This stunningly ornate border is reminiscent of embroidery designs influenced by Venetian textiles in the mid-1700s and worked throughout the Cyclades, a group of Greek islands in the Aegean sea. Tulips, cornflowers, and carnations are combined with scrolling leaves and grounded by a starkly geometric border. Our design specifies a traditional red-on-white colorway, but it could also be worked in a variety of color combinations for different effect--for example, light colored floss on a dark fabric, blue floss on white fabric, or even multiple colors of your choosing.
